Simonton Windows:

Vinyl Windows from Simonton

Custom Search

Simonton windows have been manufacturing high quality windows and patio doors for over fifty years.

In the 1980s, the company abandoned the more traditional wood and aluminum windows to focus on vinyl windows.

While many people are still attached to classic design that includes wood windows, vinyl makes a great design option for your home.

Styles

Simonton Windows makes a lot of different styles of windows and patio doors. They have standard single and double hung and slider windows, along with casement windows, awning windows, and larger windows, like bay, picture and bow windows.

Simonton also has doors. They have sliding glass patio doors and swinging garden doors. They are made with the same quality materials as Simonton windows.

Materials

Simonton windows are made out of vinyl. Although vinyl may not be as beautiful as wood, vinyl is a great all-purpose choice for windows.

Vinyl does not generally need repainting unless major damage has been done to the window, and unlike wood, it does not rot or get water stains.

And while vinyl may not be as pretty as wood, it is much nicer looking than aluminum, and will not flake or discolor like that metal sometimes can.

Simonton windows rarely require any maintenance, because they are made from such high quality vinyl.

They open and close very easily, the color is integrated throughout the frame so they do not need to be repainted and vinyl is a good insulator, so Simonton windows are energy efficient and help lower heating costs.

Energy Efficiency

Standard with Simonton windows is the use of Low E glass. Low E glass is covered with a low-emissivity coating that blocks almost all UV rays from coming through your windows.

In summer months, low E glass will help keep your house cool, and in winter months it will help keep your house warm. It's the best of both worlds.

And this means you won't have to turn your air conditioner or your heat as high as you would with lesser quality windows.

The vinyl used in the construction of Simonton windows helps with insulation as well. Adding even more energy efficiency is the “spacer system” used in the window design.

This system involves placing material between the panes that helps keep the windows sealed, reducing drafts.

Installation

If you are doing a home repair or renovation, installing windows can be a difficult do-it-yourself job. If you want to make sure your windows have been properly installed, you should call a professional.

If your windows aren't installed properly, not even a window made of high quality materials, like vinyl Simonton windows, will be able to keep your house properly insulated.
